People can also submit posters before the event.

4. Dark mode

5.  Midterm Grading Reminder – From Assistant Dean Betty Schaner ([email protected])

Midterm evaluations are the week of October 11 and midterm grades must be reported in the Banner grading system before 12:00 noon on Tuesday, October 19. Midterm grades are required for all first-year students, including ALL new transfer students who started Fall 2021, and for undergraduate students classified as less than good standing.

Unit Heads are to notify Betty Schaner and Mona Silva of the designees for routing grading emails. In preparation for grading, please make sure your unit has current and accurate contact information for all faculty – tenured, tenure-track, affiliate, visitor, and adjunct – in case outreach is needed for missing grades.

Unit Heads and New Faculty Mentors, please check with new faculty members, including affiliate, visitor, and adjunct, to confirm they understand the grade submission process. With the addition of all new transfer students, faculty teaching upper level courses should be aware that mid-term grades may be required for more students than in the past.

6.  PK-12  Lunch Series

The PK-12 Lunch Series will bring together interested faculty and staff to learn about an existing PK-12 outreach and engagement effort every first and third Thursday at noon. The goal of the series to build a PK-12 outreach and engagement community at the university to leverage our partnerships and amplify impact. Each lunch will begin with a 30-minute presentation about an existing effort, who it partners with, and what the opportunities are for other university stakeholders to support long-term plans. Q&A and discussion will follow.
The next Brown Bag Lunch is October 21 at 12 p.m., where we will hear from Sara Maas from the Padnos College of Engineering and Computer Outreach Center. Sara will discuss the FIRST Robotics efforts, including programming, outreach, and the FIRST tournament held on campus each spring.

If you’re interested in joining, please register.  After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.
