1.‌ ‌‌ ‌ Strategic Planning

A group of faculty with expertise in qualitative data analysis are in the process of examining the data CLAS generated during the visioning conversations this past winter semester. They will present their analysis at the kick-off meeting for the Summer Strategy and Innovation Group on May 26.

2.  Outreach to Unregistered Students

We continue to see a lag in registration for our current students, based on a comparison to this time last year as well as 2019. Unit Heads are provided with lists of current students who are eligible to register for the coming year with the request that outreach and support be offered to facilitate registration. We acknowledge that students may be waiting until we are certain about course modalities for the fall and winter, and that registration may eventually occur. However, the sooner students register, the sooner we will have a better picture of enrollment numbers for both fall and winter. As faculty, you are in a unique position to provide support to these student through various modes of communication. If you are willing and able, please work with your unit head to obtain a list of your assigned advisees who have yet to register and offer a nudge to your students to sign up for classes. In addition, the CLAS Academic Advising Center is continuing to offer virtual advising appointments for students who need extra support. Appointments can be made online throughout the spring and summer. Thank you for your help with this important work.
