Emergency Vehicle Operations

Scott Borg has trained drivers for over 20 years in both the Law Enforcement and private sectors. He is the Lead Emergency Vehicle Operations Instructor and has taught for Grand Valley's Police Academy since 1987. Mr. Borg graduated from Grand Valley State College in 1986 with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Criminal Justice and as a member of the 12th Police Academy Class. He is a graduate of the Michigan State Police Precision Driver Instructor School and has been a Patrol Officer for the City of Lowell since 1987.

Currently, Mr. Borg is the Transportation Manager for UPS - Michigan District. In this position, he is responsible for driver civil liability, public safety, driver safety, DOT compliance and regulations, and state and federal law adherence. As the Transportation Manager, he has attended two specialized training programs: (1) Driver Trainer School - focused on civil liability, driving laws, motor carrier regulations, and the Smith System of defensive driving and (2) Fox Valley Technical School - focused on jackknife avoidance, decision driving techniques, proper braking techniques, evasive driving maneuvers, and off road recovery.
