Minor in Environmental and Sustainability Studies

A total of 21 credits are needed to fulfill the environmental studies minor. A major must include at least 30 credits not duplicated in the minor.

Requirements for a Minor in Environmental Studies

The environmental studies minor will require a minimum of 21 credit hours including the following courses.

Core Courses

Elective Courses

One course from each of the three following categories. All courses are three credits unless specified.

Social and Cultural Perspectives

Physical and Life Science Perspectives

Political and Economic Perspectives

Additional Upper-level Electives

Six credits of upper-level electives (300- or above) from two different disciplines from the perspectives lists. ENS 399 - Independent Research, ENS 490 - Internship in Environmental Studies, or ENS 491 - Practicum may count as one upper-level elective.
