What’s the difference between a Registered Dietitian and a 'Nutritionist'?

Registered Dietitians or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist's (RD or RDN) are awarded credentials after earning at least a bachelor’s degree in Dietetics from an accredited university and completing 1,200 hours of supervised practice under experienced Dietitians in multiple areas of the dietetics field. A RD or RDN must pass a rigorous National Examination. Anyone with any sort of nutrition experience or interest can call themselves a ‘Nutritionist.’
