Faculty in the College of Education and Community Innovation will provide a unique internship experience for first-year certified teachers at all grade levels in Battle Creek Public Schools (BCPS). GVSU faculty provides the new teachers with intensive, customized support from a well-trained consultant who will support beginner teachers as they transition to full-time professional teaching in BCPS. Interns will enroll in nine (9) credit hours of graduate coursework while working as full-time teachers in their schools. Consultants coach the interns to translate into classroom practice the knowledge and skills they learned throughout their preparation program and to adopt a continuous improvement approach.
