Apply to Host or Attend an Intensive Training Series
2021-2022 Early Childhood:
START’s Early Childhood training for 2021-2022 will be offered in the
form of two mini-intensive training series of 2-3 modules each, with
the same series offered once in the fall and once in the spring. More
information about our 2021-2022 Early Childhood trainings, including
how to apply to participate, will be available soon.
2020-2021 Early Childhood:
To participate as a host site, a school system must submit an
application to the START office:
Costs: District responsibilities include costs of
professional time away from the classroom or other responsibilities,
the costs for a training facility, and lunch for your team members
participating. Training costs including the presenters, materials,
and resources are provided at no cost to the district.
To participate as a team, a school system must submit an
application to the START office:
Team Makeup: Assemble a team comprised of 6 school
professionals around a target student with ASD. Teams can include,
but are not limited to early childhood teachers, school
psychologist, school social worker, provider of speech and language,
occupational therapist, school administrator, and paraprofessional staff.
Costs: District responsibilities include costs of
professional time away from the classroom or other responsibilities,
and lunch for your team members participating. Training costs
including the presenters, materials, and resources are provided at
no cost to the district.
To participate as a K-12 Intensive Training (IT) and Technical
Assistance (TA) site, a school system must submit an application to
the START office:
START is not accepting K-12 IT TA Site Applications for 2021-2022.

professional time away from the classroom or other responsibilities,
the costs for a training facility, and lunch for your team
members. Training costs including the presenters, materials, and
resources are provided at no cost to the district.

2021-2022 K-12 Team Application (submission
deadline: March 8, 2021):
Team Makeup: Assemble a team comprised of 5-7
school professionals around a target student with ASD. Teams can
include, but are not limited to, the general education teacher,
special education teacher, school psychologist, school social
worker, provider of speech and language, occupational therapist, ISD
or school administrator. Each team should include the parent(s) of
the target student.
Costs: District responsibilities include costs of
professional time away from the classroom or other responsibilities,
and lunch for your team members. Training costs including the
presenters, materials, and resources are provided at no cost to the district.
2021-2022Building Your Future (BYF):
START will not be holding a 2021-2022 Building Your Future Secondary
Transition intensive training series. Instead, we anticipate offering
2-3 standalone trainings focused on transition, to be open statewide.
We expect more information about these trainings to be available in
the spring.
