Join us for a fascinating discussion of Egyptian funerary practice!

Lissette Jimenez, of San Francisco State University, will be speaking with us about the ways that the symbolic and magical functions of the imagery on funerary shrouds enables a fuller understanding of individual and collective social aspirations of the multi-cultural population of Roman Egypt. Don't miss "Reconstructing the Cultural Contexts of Funerary Shrouds from Roman Egypt"!   This lecture is co-sponsored by the Archaeological Institute of America, Central/West Michigan chapter.

This talk will be  6 pm on Wednesday, October 27.  Please note thatthe lecture will be online via Zoom.  Registration for this event will begin in the first week of October.
