DESCRIPTION:The man who mentored countless students and was largely responsible for establishing Grand Valley&#39\;s Office of Multicultural Affairs died in late March\, leaving behind a legacy worthy of a &quot\;Giant.&quot\;\n\n\n\nDonald (Don) Williams Sr.\, retired dean emeritus of minority affairs\, died March 29\, 2026. He was 89. Williams joined Grand Valley&#39\;s staff in 1985 and retired in 2001.\n\n\n\nA celebration of life service for Williams is scheduled for May 16\, 1-3 p.m. The event will include a ceremony and luncheon.\n\n\n\nNo RSVP is required.\n\n\n\nComplimentary parking will be available in the DeVos Lot.
