Health and Wellness

Grand Valley provides an array of health and wellness services for students and their families.

GVSU Campus Health Center - Metro Health makes expert care easy by providing convenient care for students and faculty at the GVSU Campus Health Center.

Student Health Insurance - As a service to our students, GVSU offers an opportunity to enroll in a Student Health Insurance plan through Student Assurance Services. This plan is available to any student registered at GVSU and attending classes. Columbian Life Insurance Company underwrites the plan.

Recreation Center - GVSU Recreation offers programs, services, and events for fitness, wellness, outdoor adventures, and sports programs throughout the year. Open to students, faculty, staff, and community members, GVSU Recreation enhances and engages the community by providing inclusive and diverse recreational opportunities that inspire participation, promote health and well-being, and encourage student development and success. With 50+ group exercise classes, massages, nutrition services, personal and small group training, CPR/First Aid classes, as well as the Bike Shop, Climbing Center, and outdoor trips and workshops, there is something for everyone!

Resource Centers

GVSU'S Center for Adult and Continuing Studies - the Center for Adult and Continuing Studies offers program for life-long learners of every age or level of education. This center, with a home office in Eberhard Center on the Pew Campus in Grand Rapids and offices in Holland, Muskegon, and Traverse City, offers degree completion programs and services, professional development, skill training and certification, and also educational programs for adults aged 55+.  The Center for Adult and Continuing Studies is a great place to get your questions answered. Center for Women and Gender Equity - The Center for Women and Gender Equity provides a variety of services and resources including student parent support, the student food pantry, and professional clothing resources, and domestic and sexual violence support. 

LGBT Resource Center- The LGBT Resource Center strives to create an inclusive and just environment where the many expressions of gender and sexuality are celebrated.

Office of Multicultural Affairs - The Office of Multicultural Affairs (OMA ) is committed to building an inclusive campus that yields social harmony and learning vitality.  Through its comprehensive programs and services, OMA fosters an appreciation and respect for the history, tradition, and culture of different ethnic groups, and empowers students to be active learners.

Stress Management

The GVSU Counseling Center consists of team of trained professionals committed to improving the mental health of the GVSU student body through counseling, education & consultation. The following counseling services to all currently registered GVSU students free of charge: One-on-One Counseling, Couples Counseling, Group Counseling, Special Events & Seminars, Consultation & Referral, Emergency Services, and a Peer Education Program.
