What do you like most about teaching at Grand Valley?
The students are different. They are kind. They smile always, even under pressure. I like that.
What is your favorite class to teach?
Each class is different. It depends on the subject, but it also depends on the particular chemistry of the class.
What do students like best about your class?
We have group work, we have movies, and we dance. In my class, we sing. I think they like that, the variety.
How do you contribute to the success of your students?
I want them to know that I am available, that I want them to succeed, and that it's possible to succeed.
What advice would you give to prospective students?
Do your homework. If you do everything, I don't see how you could fail. This degree is a big investment for the future. You can get many jobs, but this is a future that you're getting here.
What is the most rewarding aspect about teaching at Grand Valley?
The university has a goal to provide excellent education for our students, and also there are expectations for us faculty to improve. I like that. That can only have good results.
