  • Degree offered: B.F.A., B.A., B.S.. Students seeking a B.A. degree must demonstrate third semester proficiency in a foreign language.
  • Students are encouraged to transfer after one year of basic courses.

  • This guide fulfills the Michigan Transfer Agreement (MTA).  Science electives must be selected from different disciplines.  Social science electives must be selected from different disciplines.  Humanities elective must be a non-ART course.  Please check with your community college advisor for additional associate degree requirements.
  • U.S. Diversity electives:  HRY 102, HRY 103, SOC 103, SOC 200, SOC 205
  •  World Perspectives electives: FRL 206, FRL 255, GEO 102, HRY 101, HRY 252, HUM 205, PHI 209, PSI 202, SOC 201
  • Students interested in K-12 teacher certification should take PSY 150 as a social science elective and could also take PSY 190.
  • Transfer students interested in pursuing a program within the department of art & design must apply for and attend a portfolio review session to determine acceptance into the program and, if accepted, determine which studio courses may receive specific credit.  For more details on the application process please see www.gvsu.edu/art
