  • Degree offered: B.F.A., B.A., B.S.. Students seeking a B.A. degree must demonstrate third semester proficiency in a foreign language. Students seeking the B.S. degree must take MATH 150.
  • All transfer credit for studio courses is by portfolio review.
  • Accreditation: National Association of Schools of Art and Design
  • This guide fulfills the Michigan Transfer agreement (MTA).  Science and social science electives must be selected from different disciplines.  Humanities elective must be a non-ART course.   Please check with your community college advisor for additional associate degree requirements.  GVSU will still honor the MACRAO agreement.
  • World Perspectives electives:  ANTH 211, FREN 252, GEOG 142, HIST 151, HIST 152, PSCN 173, SPAN 282
  • U.S. Diversity electives:  HIST 154, HIST 155, SOCY 193, SOCY 292, SOCY 294
  • It is strongly recommended that students transfer after one year of general courses.
  • Students interested in K-12 teacher certification should take PSYC 281 and PSYC 285 as social science electives.
  • Transfer students interested in pursuing a program with the Department of Art and Design must apply for and attend a portfolio review session to determine acceptance into the program and, if accepted, determine which studio courses may receive specific credit.  For more details on the application process to the Department of Art & Design please see www.gvsu.edu/art
