NOTES:

  • Degree offered: B.S., B.A. Students seeking the B.A. degree must demonstrate a third semester proficiency in a foreign language.  MTH 120 is only required for students seeking the B.S. degree
  • This guide fulfills the Michigan Transfer Agreement (MTA).  Science electives must be selected from different disciplines.  Social science elective must be a non-PS course.  Humanities electives must be selected from different disciplines.  Please check with your community college advisor for additional associate degree requirements.  GVSU will still honor the MACRAO agreement.
  • U.S. Diversity electives:  ENG 225, ENG 236, HIS 149, HIS 150, HIS 233, HIS 297, SOC 110, SOC 160, SOC 201
  • It is recommended that students consider transferring after one year.

CAREER OPPORTUNITIES

Political Science as a major or minor can lead to careers in business, government work in administration, foreign service, and specialized overseas assignments. There may also be careers in public action and interest groups.
