  • Degree offered: B.F.A., B.A., B.S.. Students seeking a B.A. degree must demonstrate third semester proficiency in a foreign language.
  • Accreditation: National Association of Schools of Art and Design
  • This guide fulfills the Michigan Transfer agreement (MTA).  Science and social science electives must be selected from different disciplines.  Humanities elective must be a non-ART course.  Please check with your community college advisor for additional associate degree requirements.  GVSU will still honor the MACRAO agreement.
  • World Perspectives electives:  SSA 201, HUF 261, HUL 234, HUR 231
  • U.S. Diversity electives:  HUL 201. SSS 121, SSS 220
  • Transfer students interested in pursuing a program within the department of art and design must apply for and attend a portfolio review session to determine acceptance into the program and, if accepted, determine which studio courses may receive specific credit.  For more details on the application process to the department of art and design please see www.gvsu.edu/art.
  • Students interested in K-12 teacher certification should take SSP 101 as a social science elective.
  • Students may want to transfer after one year of courses.
