  • Degree offered: B.S., B.A. Students seeking a B.A. degree must demonstrate third semester proficiency in a foreign language.
  • It is strongly recommended that students transfer after one year of basic courses. None of the freshman/sophomore communication courses are available at Bay de Noc.
  • This guide fulfills the Michigan Transfer agreement (MTA).  Social science, science and humanities electives must be selected from different disciplines.   Please see a community college advisor for additional associate degree requirements.  GVSU will still honor the MACRAO agreement.
  • MATH 210 is only required for students pursuing the B.S. degree.

CAREER OPPORTUNITIES

Communication Studies is a multidisciplinary liberal arts and professional field. At Grand Valley a student may choose a general major in communications or one of seven specialized majors. These majors include: Film and Video Production, Photography, Theatre, Advertising and Public Relations, Broadcasting, Journalism, and Health Communications.
