  • This guide fulfills the Michigan Transfer agreement (MTA).  Science, social science and humanities electives must be selected from different disciplines.    Please check with your community college advisor for additional associate degree requirements.  GVSU will still honor the MACRAO agreement.

  • U.S. Diversity electives:  ANT 225, ENG 224, HST 201, HST 202, SOC 102, SOC 112
  • Students interested in teacher certification should take  PSY 101 and PSY 202
  • Students interested in sports leadership should take SPE 101
  • Students interested in sports leadership with an emphasis in sports management should take ACC 201
  • It is strongly recommended that students transfer after one year of basic courses. None of the required PE courses are available at Gogebic.

CAREER OPPORTUNITIES

The degree in physical education is designed for the preparation of teachers, coaches, athletic trainers, and fitness/wellness leaders. Opportunities in physical education include positions as: teachers (K-12), coaches, intramural directors, recreation leaders, athletic officials, athletic administration, consultants, camp directors, youth leaders, wellness/fitness leaders and administrators, and personal trainers.
