  • Degree offered: B.A., B.F.A., B.S.. Students seeking the B.A. degree must demonstrate third semester proficiency in a foreign language. Students seeking the B.S. degree must take MATH 190.
  • Accreditation: National Association of Schools of Art and Design.
  • This guide fulfills the Michigan Transfer Agreement (MTA).  Science electives must be selected from different disciplines.  Social science electives must be selected from different disciplines.  Humanities elective must be a non-ARTS course.   Please check with your community college advisor for additional associate degree requirements.  GVSU will still honor the MACRAO agreement.
  • World Perspectives electives:  ANTH 260, BUSN 260, HIST 257, HUMN 110, PHIL 221
  • U.S. Diversity electives:  ANTH 265, HIST 250, HIST 251, HIST 252, HIST 253, SOCI 235, POLI 240
  • Students are encouraged to transfer after one year of basic courses.
  • Students interested in K-12 teacher certification should take PSYC 120 as a social science elective and could also take PSYC 221.
  • Transfer students interested in pursuing a program within the Department of Art and Design must apply for and attend a portfolio review session to determine acceptance into the program and, if accepted, determine which studio courses may receive specific credit.  For more details on the application process to the Department of Art and Design please see wwwl.gvsu.edu/art
