  • Degree offered: B.S., B.A.. Students seeking the B.A. degree must demonstrate third semester proficiency in a foreign language.
  • This guide assumes a prior math background.
  • Accreditation: Committee on Professional Training of the American Chemical Society.
  • Students interested in the professional emphasis should take MTH 223 and PHY 236 + 237 instead of PHY 232 + 233.  Students interested in the technical or environmental emphasis should take MTH 123.  Students interested in the environmental emphasis can take CIS 130 or 160 if time permits. Students interested in the biochemistry and biotechnology emphasis should take BIO 122 and PSY 161.
  • Students interested in teacher certification should take BIO 122 if time permits.
  • CHM 122 and 123 must both be taken at WSCC to get CHM 115 and 116 at GVSU.
