  • Programs are approved by the Michigan Department on Education and accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE).
  • This guide fulfills the MIchigan Transfer agreement.  Science and humanities electives must be selected from different disciplines.  Social science elective must be a non-PY course.  Please check with your community college advisor for additional associate degree requirements.  GVSU will still honor the MACRAO agreement.
  • Teachable majors for secondary education: Visual Arts for K-12, English, French, German, Latin, Spanish, Music for K-12, Biology, Chemistry,  Earth/Space Science, Mathematics, Physical Education for K-12,Physics, History, Social Studies.

APPLICATION PROCEDURES

Deadlines for application to Teacher Education are: September 15 for winter admission and field placement; February 1 for fall admission and field placement. Application packets are available in the College of Education.
