  • Degree offered: B.S., B.A. Students seeking a B.A. degree must demonstrate third semester proficiency in a foreign language.  Students seeking the B.S. degree should take MAT 131.
  • It is strongly recommended that students transfer after one year of basic courses. None of the required communication courses are available at Wayne.
  • This guide fulfills the Michigan Transfer Agreement (MTA).  Science electives must be selected from different disciplines.  Humanities elective must be a non-SPH course.  Social science electives must be selected from different disciplines.  Please check with your community college advisor for additional associate degree requirements.  GVSU will still honor the MACRAO agreement.

CAREER OPPORTUNITIES

Communication is a multidisciplinary liberal arts and professional field. At Grand Valley a student may choose a general major in Communication Studies or one of seven specialized majors. These majors include: Film and Video Production, Photography, Theatre, Advertising and Public Relations, Broadcasting, Journalism, and Health Communications.
