  • Degree offered: B.F.A., B.A., B.S.. Students seeking a B.A. degree must demonstrate third semester proficiency in a foreign language. Students seeking the B.S. degree must take MTH 223.
  • Accreditation: National Association of Schools of Art and Design
  • Students are encouraged to transfer after one year of basic courses.
  • Students interested in K-12 teacher certification should take PSY 101 as a social science elective.
  • Transfer students interested in pursuing a program within the Department of Art and Design must apply for and attend a portfolio review session to determine acceptance into the program and, if accepted, determine which transfer studio courses may receive specific credit.  For more details on the application process to the Department of Art and Design please see www.gvsu.edu/art 
  • This guide fulfills the Michigan Transfer Agreement (MTA).  Electives in science, humanities and social science must be selected from different disciplines.    Please check with your community college advisor for additional associate degree requirements.  GVSU will still honor the MACRAO agreement.
