  • Degree offered: B.F.A., B.A., B.S.. Students seeking the B.A. degree must demonstrate third semester proficiency in a foreign language. Students seeking the B.S. degree should take MATH 130 and OIT 100.
  • Accreditation: National Association of Schools of Art and Design
  • This guide fulfills the Michigan Transfer Agreement (MTA).  Humanities elective must be a non-ART course.  Social science electives must be selected from different disciplines.  Science electives must be selected from different disciplines.   Please check with your community college advisor for additional associate degree  equirements.  GVSU will still honor the MACRAO agreement.
  • World Perspectives electives:  ANTH 200, BUAD 115, FREN 202, HIST 201, HIST 250, HIST 260, LITE 205, LITE 206, POSC 210, POSC 211, SPAN 202

  • Students interested in K-12 teacher certification should take PSYC 201 as a social science elective.
  • Transfer students interested in pursuing a program within the department of art and design must apply for and attend a portfolio review session to determine acceptance into the program and, if accepted, determine which studio courses may receive specific credit.  For more details on the application process to the department of art and design please see www.gvsu.edu/art
  • Students may want to transfer after one year of basic courses.
