  • Degree offered: B.F.A., B.A., B.S.. Students seeking the B.A. degree must demonstrate third-semester proficiency in a foreign language. Students seeking the B.S. degree must complete MATH 216 and CIS 100 or PHIL 102.
  • Students are encouraged to transfer after one year of basic courses.
  • Students interested in K-12 teacher certification should take PSYC 201 and PSYC 204 as social science electives.
  • Transfer students interested in pursuing a program within the Department of Art & Design must apply for and attend a portfolio review session to determine acceptance into the program and, if accepted, determine which studio courses may receive specific credit.  For more details on the application process to the Department of Art & Design please see
  • Accreditation: National Association of Schools of Art and Design.
  • This guide fulfills the Michigan Transfer Agreement (MTA).  Humanities elective must be a non-ART course.  Social science elecitves must be selected from different disciplines.  Science electives must be selected from different disciplines.   Please check with your community college advisor for additional associate degree requirements.  GVSU will still honor the MACRAO agreement.
