  • Degree offered: B.S., B.A. Students seeking a B.A. degree must demonstrate third semester proficiency in a foreign language.
  • It is strongly recommended that students transfer after one year of basic courses. None of the freshman/sophomore communication courses are available at Bay de Noc.
  • This guide fulfills the Michigan Transfer agreement (MTA).  Social science electives must be selected from different disciplines.   Science electives must be selected from different disciplines.  Humanities electives must be selected from different disciplines.  Please see a community college advisor for additional associate degree requirements.  GVSU will still honor the MACRAO agreement.
  • MATH 210 is only required for students pursuing the B.S. degree.

Communication Studies is a multidisciplinary liberal arts and professional field. At Grand Valley a student may choose a general major in communications studies or one of six specialized majors. These majors include: Film and Video Production, Photography, Theatre, Advertising and Public Relations, Multimedia Journalism, and Health Communications.
