  • Degrees offered: B.F.A., B.A., B.S.. Students seeking the B.A. degree must demonstrate third-semester proficiency in a foreign language.
  • Accreditation: National Association of Schools of Art and Design.
  • This guide fulfills the Michigan Transfer Agreement (MTA).  Social science electives must be selected from different disciplines.  Humanities elective must be a non-ART course.  Please check with your community college advisor for additional associate degree requirements.  GVSU will still honor the MACRAO agreement.
  • World Perspectives electives:  ANT 131, ENG 257, GEO 132, PLS 262, SPN 232
  • U.S. Diversity electives:  ENG 249, HST 125, SOC 235, SOC 246
  • Students may want to transfer after one year of basic courses.
  • Students interested in K-12 teacher certification should take PSY 140 and could also take EDU 263 or PSY 245.
  • Transfer students interested in pursuing a program with the department of art and design must apply for and attend a portfolio review session to determine acceptance into the program and, if accepted, determine which studio courses may receive specific credit.  For more details on the application process to the department of art and design please see www.gvsu.edu/art
