  • Degree offered: B.S., B.A. Students seeking a B.A. degree must demonstrate third semester proficiency in a foreign language.
  • This guide fulfills the Michigan Transfer Agreement (MTA).  Humanities electives must be selected from different disciplines.  Social science electives must be selected from different disciplines.  Please check with your community college advisor for additional associate degree requirements.  GVSU will still honor the MACRAO agreement.

  • Students seeking teacher certification should take PSY 101 as a social science elective.
  • Students interested in professional or graduate school should take PHY 235 and 245.
  • Students must take both BIO 165 + 175 to receive credit in BIO 120 + 121 at Grand Valley.  Also, CHM 250, 252 and 255 must all be taken to receive full credit for organic chemistry at Grand Valley.
  • The following emphasis areas are available:  animal, aquatic sciences, general, genetics, plants, pre-professional, wildlife and secondary teaching.
