- Degrees offered: B.S., B.A. Students seeking the B.A. degree must demonstrate third semester proficiency in a foreign language. Students seeking the B.S. degree must take one of the following one-year sequence in natural science: BI 103 + 104 or BI 151 + 152 or CHM 130 + 131 and CHM 140 + 141 or CHM 150 + 151 and CHM 160 + 161 or GL 101 + 104 or PH 125 + 126, and one upper level science from the same discipline at Grand Valley.
- This guide fulfills the Michigan Transfer agreement (MTA). Please check with your community college advisor regarding additional associate degree requirements. GVSU will still honor the MACRAO agreement.
- Science electives must be selected from different disciplines. Humanities electives must be selected from different disciplines.
Professional and career opportunities for students majoring in anthropology include jobs in international development/assistance (nonprofit and government), government, education, museums, international business, zoos, human services, and health care.
Career practicum experiences are available for students interested in museum work and a number of other activities in local communities. Students interested in practicum experiences need to begin planning with their advisor for the experience as early as possible in their college career.
