Why did you choose to attend Grand Valley?
I visited a number of different schools, but Grand Valley's location was nice and smaller class sizes were important to me too. The professors knew my name and I had access to them. Being able to break into groups and have discussions with professors was great. Also, it has a very reasonable tuition.

What was the highlight of your Grand Valley experience?
Being a participant of the first delegation from GVSU in the National Model Arab League. Our delegation was fortunate to meet with Ambassador al-Khalifa of Bahrain to discuss politics and the culture of his country. It was a very hands-on experience that was so much more than learning inside the classroom. I was able to apply what I had learned and gained important experience from that.

How have you benefited from Grand Valley's liberal education foundation?
It made me a much more well-rounded person. Taking classes in music, being exposed to the arts, opening my mind to new ideas. It's very important in today's world. They say it's who you know, not what you know, but it is still about what you know and being able to use it.

How has Grand Valley helped you achieve your goals?
I got a great education and I'm not burdened by huge student loans. I still keep in touch with my professors, and alumni groups keep me connected and networking with other alums. My professors and fellow alumni have been incredible supporters in helping me continue my professional career.

What advice would you give to prospective students?
Work hard, study a lot, take advantage of the experience your professors have. Never underestimate the value of an internship, get that experience.
