What do you like most about teaching at Grand Valley?
We have really talented students that come in, which only allows us to take them to an even higher level.
What is your favorite class to teach?
If I had to choose one, I would say choreography. I get to see students apply everything that they've learned in their time at GVSU.
What do students like best about your class?
The feedback that I hear is that they see that I'm truly invested in their learning. There are a lot of different avenues that people can go into in dance, so I'm trying to find what each individual can bring to the field.
How do you contribute to the success of your students?
One of the things that I love about teaching here is that I have so much one-on-one interaction with my students. I personally know every single dance major and minor in this department.
What advice would you give to prospective students?
Be ready to grow and change. Grand Valley is going to challenge you. If you can maintain an open viewpoint, you will learn so much while you are here.
What is the most rewarding aspect about teaching at Grand Valley?
The most rewarding aspect is always the students and seeing their amazing growth from the time they're a freshman to the time they're a senior.
