Grand Valley's tuition remains below the state average, and has been named one of "America's 100 Best College Buys" by Institutional Research and Evaluation, Inc. for 23 years in a row.

U.S. News and World Report ranked Grand Valley a "Top Regional University in the Midwest," as well as a "Top School for Veterans". Grand Valley was also named one of "America's Top Colleges" by Forbes and "Best in the Midwest" by Princeton Review.

Grand Valley students are encouraged to graduate in four years. Qualifying seniors receive a tuition discount. More than 2,850 students received the Grand Finish Grant in 2017-8. Students who are on track to finish their degree in four years receive up to $1,000. Of the 2018 graduates who earned a degree in four years or less, 36 percent had no debt.
