Student Reading Series
The Student Reading Series (SRS) is organized, planned, and publicized entirely by students and consists of monthly readings of student work throughout the year. Most of the readings are themed, and at the end of each semester, one reading is reserved for graduating seniors to read from their best fiction, poetry, non-fiction, and drama. Readings are not limited to Writing majors/minors; the SRS welcomes all writers as long as the pieces are literary in nature.
Because we have themes for each of our readings, SRS offers prizes for the best reader of the night along the chosen theme whether it be a broadside, movie tickets, or a surprise.
Even if you choose not to read, come support your fellow writers and hear some genuine student work!
If you are interested in helping with the organizing or publicity of the series, please send an e-mail to the SRS address, srsgvsu@gmail.com. You may also speak with the 2011-2012 student coordinators, Jeremy Llorence (llorencj@mail.gvsu.edu) or Lynn Dimick (dimickl@mail.gvsu.edu). The faculty advisor is Assistant Professor Austin Bunn (bunna@gvsu.edu).
