Kay M. Losey is Professor of Writing at GVSU where she regularly teaches courses in the Writing major, such as Writing with Style, Consulting with Writers, Magazine Writing, and Genre and Writing. Her scholarship focuses on issues related to the teaching of writing to adult multilingual writers. She is author of several books, including, most recently, Plurilingual Pedagogies for Multilingual Writing Classrooms: Engaging the Rich Communicative Repertoires of U.S. Students (with Gail Shuck, published by Routledge). She has published her scholarship in College Composition and CommunicationTESOL Quarterly, and the International Journal of Bilingual Education and Bilingualism as well as in several other journals and edited volumes. Co-founder of MITESOL Journal, she currently serves as a co-editor. She served as GVSU’s SWS Director from 2005-2014 and as Interim Director of the Meijer Center for Writing and Michigan Authors from 2013-2014. She is recipient of GVSU’s 2022-2023 University Distinguished Contribution in a Discipline Award.
