WRT Faculty Honored at Faculty Awards Convocation

Two writing faculty and writing's library liaison were honored at the Faculty Awards Convocation.

WRT Dept to Host Fulbright Scholar, Chu Dongwei

The Writing Department will host Fulbright Scholar, Chu Dongwei, on February 21st. He will deliver a lecture, "The Myth of Translating Chinese Literature," from 1-2:15p in Kirkhof 2266.

Grand Valley Writers Series Showcases Two GV Faculty

The Grand Valley Writers Series, which brings award-winning authors from around the world to campus each year, continues for the winter season with a showcase of works by two Grand Valley faculty members: Amorak Huey and Caitlin Horrocks.

Huey Wins Creative Writing Fellowship

Professor Amorak Huey will be awarded with a Creative Writing Fellowship for his work in poetry from the National Endowment of the Arts (NEA).

Department Welcomes CLAS Alumni-in-Residence: Mike Salisbury

Former GVSU Writing Alum will be deliver a talk to writing majors and minors on Tuesday, October 11th from 1:00-2:15pm in KC 2270.

New Faculty: Amy Ferdinandt Stolley

Professor Stolley comes to GVSU after working as the Writing Program Director at Saint Xavier University in Chicago. She will take over as Director of First-Year Writing at GVSU in January.

Fall Arts Lecture: Rebecca Solnit

Solnit's lecture on November 14 at 7pm will discuss the artist and activist�'s role in attending to that which goes unseen in American cities because it involves the wrong people, place, or story. 

Poetry Night 2016

An Evening of Poetry and Conversation with Oliver de la Paz and Tracy K. Smith on Thursday, October 13 at 7pm.
