Fall 2011-12 Courses

March 3, 2011

Dear Writing Major:

Perhaps you’ve noticed that Banner indicates that we have a good number of WRT 380 courses offered in Fall/Winter of the 2011-12 academic year. These are courses that will soon appear in our new curriculum. For now, they are listed as special topics. That said, we want you to know that we can make many different substitutions so that these courses will count toward your current writing major.

Since you will be enrolling soon, I thought it would be a good idea to share some catalog copy as well as the particular substitutions that we can make with these courses. For example, WRT 380-02 will count for any of the English “Studies in X” courses like “Studies in Fiction.” It will also satisfy the current requirement of “any 200-level literature course.”  WRT 380 will sub for 351, 350, any of the triplet courses for the PW students, or COM 203. If you have questions about these substitutions, ask your advisor.  See both Fall and Winter below.

Sincerely,

Dan Royer, Chair, Department of Writing
