The Annis Water Resources Institute places emphasis on research, education, and outreach. In addition, there is an expectation of service from our faculty and staff. This is one of the hallmarks of Grand Valley State University, and we take this responsibility seriously at AWRI. Service does not always get the attention that large grants or major publications receive, but it is one of the most critical ways that we, as educators and scientists, can make a difference in the quality of life of our community and state.
We take pride at AWRI of our contributions to public service. The total number of service activities by AWRI staff keeps growing, and several more are listed this month, including appointments of Rod Denning, Rick Rediske, Carl Ruetz, and Al Steinman to either local, state, or national committees. Additional service activities by John Koches, Rick Rediske, Al Steinman, Don Uzarski, and Janet Vail have been identified in past newsletters. We invite you to read more about these appointments, as well as our other activities, in the November newsletter.
