AWRI Newsletter #31: June 2004

"Nothing endures but change." (Heraclitus)

As June closes, a number of significant changes become operational at GVSU that impact AWRI. Most significantly, we bid a fond farewell to Dean P. Douglas Kindschi, who after 28 years of service as Dean at GVSU, is stepping down to become a faculty member. Doug helped start the Water Resources Institute in 1986 (later named after Robert B. Annis in 1997), and his vision and support have helped it to grow and flourish. He will be profoundly missed.

A major reorganization at GVSU now places AWRI in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. Our new Dean is Fred Antczak, who joins GVSU from the University of Iowa. We welcome Fred, and look forward to working with him in the future. Despite these significant changes, there is one constant with respect to AWRI: we will continue to work, to the best of our abilities, to generate the highest quality products, integrating research, outreach, and education to protect and preserve our water resources.
