Making Lake MI GreatThe W.G. JACKSON makes its way around Lake Michigan on the Making Lake Michigan Great Tour to various ports of call in the summer. Sponsored by the Lake Michigan Forum, the purpose of these annual tours is to spread the word about the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's Lakewide Management Plan for Lake Michigan. Funded by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (U.S. EPA), the tours provide hands-on experience in water issues for the public aboard the W.G. JACKSON. There are cruises for students and the public, open houses, teacher workshops, and community events.
