A limited number of partial scholarships are available for the Ready to Run Campaign Training for Women program. Applications for the scholarships will be considered on a rolling basis as long as funding is available. Complete the form here in order to be considered for funding.
The Grand Valley State University Women's Center, with funding provided by Rutgers Center for American Women and Politics and W.K. Kellogg Foundation, is hosting the Ready To Run conference on April 21, 2012.
This conference is a bi-partisan campaign training program designed to empower women to participate more fully in government and specifically to encourage women to run for office. The program demystifies the process of running for elected office , encourages more women to mount campaigns, and introduces elected and appointed leaders, campaign consultants, and party officials to whom program participants can turn to as they get ready to run.
The Ready to Run program curriculum includes the following topics:
- Fundraising
- Media Training
- Navigating the party system
- Developing a campaign plan and launching a campaign
- Laying the groundwork for public life
- Internet strategies for campaigns
To cancel your registration, please send an email to wassenaj@gvsu.edu or call 616-331-2748. Registrants who find it necessary to cancel will receive a refund. To receive a refund, you must submit written notification seven days prior to the event start date. Substitutions may be made at any time. Refunds will not be issued once the event starts.
