Past Student Facilitators: We are fortunate to have had some very outstanding undergraduate student facilitators participating in the WISE Group Study Sessions. These students assist others with their courses in Biology, Chemistry and Mathematics. Biology Facilitator: Alana Kincaid email: alanakincaid@yahoo.com Major: Biology major with a pre-vet emphasis About Alana: About me: I am from Cedar Springs, MI, a small town 15 miles or so north of Grand Rapids. My hobbies are running, playing volleyball, reading, watching movies and Desperate Housewives (my guilty pleasure!). After graduating from GVSU I hope to attend MSU's veterinary school. My career goal is to become a small animal veterinarian and work at a suburban clinic somewhere here in West Michigan. Chemistry Facilitator: Brittany Benson email: bensonbr@student.gvsu.edu Major: Biomedical Science Year: 2nd Year Career Goals: Medical Doctor Hometown: Big Rapids, MI About Me: I enjoy keeping busy! I love science and hope to go to medical school sometime in the next few years. I enjoy playing sports (volleyball, soccer, running, etc), I play clarinet in the GVSU concert band and am also chair of the Honors Council. Chemistry: Becky Quardokus email: Major: Chemistry, Professional Emphasis Year: Senior Education Goal: PhD in Physical Chemistry Hometown: Stevensville, MI (Lakeshore HS) About Me: I love Chemistry! I am a senior and am planning on graduating in the Spring. I am the president of Chemistry Club, and I encourage anyone with the slightest interest in chemistry to join. I also enjoy extra curricular activities outside of chemistry. I am currently taking beginning ballet and play french horn in the GVSU Concert Band. My career goal is still undecided. I do enjoy sharing my excitement for chemistry, so maybe I'll be a chemistry professor! ![]() Math Facilitator: Kate Monfils email: monfilsk@gvsu.edu Year: Second year junior Major: Math Minors: Biology and Dance Emphasis: Secondary Education Hometown: Canadian Lakes, MI Hobbies: Dance, figure skating, reading, oboe, bassoon, music (all kinds) Favorite quote: "Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect." Mark Twain Goals: I plan on teaching high school math- preferably trig or calculus. I like to play piano and go to Lake Michigan in my spare time. I also love to travel and spend time with my family.
