Student Leaders Current Students Resident Advisor (RA) WISE has one student RA living in the building each year. This student is a science, math or engineering major and is selected by the Grand Valley Housing Department. We are pleased to announce that the 2009-2010 WISE RA is Danielle Harris. For more information on Danielle and past and future (maybe YOU!) RA's click here: RA Peer Mentors We are fortunate in WISE to have live-in returning WISE students as peer mentors. These Peer Mentors have gone through the WISE program, are science majors and are typically sophomores. New students will benefit from the experience, advice, and friendship of these WISE role models. Each Peer Mentor is assigned 4-5 students to write to over the summer months and help ease the transition to the college community. WISE peer mentors also plan social programs in the building during the academic year. Peer mentors serve on these committees and first-year students are invited to join in their second semester at GVSU if interested in this leadership and community-building opportunity. The committees we have established are: 1. Social events/planning committee 2. Recycling Program For more information on these committees click here: COMMITTEES Other WISE members (new students) may wish to help on committees as well, and can assist as the year goes on. We are pleased to announce the formation of the WISE Peer Mentorship program at GVSU. WISE peer mentors are upper-level former WISE students who will live in Koeze Weed as mentors for the incoming first-year students. We will be selecting approximately 2-4 Peer Mentors to serve as role models for the 2009-2010 academic year.
