Michigan Works Educational Funding 

The purpose of this website is to give you a comprehensive overview of how funding for educational programs through Michigan Works is handled at Grand Valley State University.  This might include any of the following programs:

  • Workforce Investment Act (WIA)
  • Michigan Rehabilitation Services (MRS)
  • Trade Adjustment Act (TAA)
  • No Worker Left Behind (NWLB)


We have divided the site into 2 separate categories.  Students who are pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree will select "Degree Seeking" on the left hand side.  Students who are pursuing certificate programs will select "Non-Degree Certificate" also on the left hand side."

GVSU's goal is to provide you with the information, direction and process you need to follow in order to receive your Michigan Works assistance.

**Please note: The funding process can be lengthy.  GVSU does not control the length of time it takes to approve your program OR the amount of funding you receive.  Receiving your funds can take several months to come throughFollowing the instructions on this website will ensure that the process and paperwork for GVSU to complete is done as quickly as possible.
