Veterans Traumatic Brain Injury Education Project (Concluded)
The Veterans TBI Education Project was a collaborative effort between Grand Valley State University and Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital, funded by two Department of Defense grants. The project addressed the unique, comprehensive physical and psychological needs of wounded veterans who had sustained a mild traumatic brain injury during active duty or training. Further, the program provided education to healthcare professionals who in turn provided comprehensive, evidence-based, interprofessional rehabilitation services to wounded veterans and their families. The grant research work concluded February 11, 2014.
The education materials from this project continue to be available to both healthcare professionals and veterans and their families. The online patient education handouts may be accessed through the program website indicated below. In addition, health care professionals may earn continuing education credits (including CME & CNE) by completing our more extensive online education modules. These modules contain both clinical and military-relevant information.
