Each health professions program at Grand Valley was developed to meet community, regional, and national needs. The Office of the Vice Provost provides leadership in the development of research, educational, and practice partnerships between the University’s health profession programs and the rich health care resources in our region, and the expansion of clinical and research sites for the health professions programs and the life sciences. A priority of the Office is the facilitation of interprofessional education (IPE) and scholarship initiatives. This IPE initiative is supported by the University’s state of the art simulation center and learning resource laboratories which serve as a safe practice environment for learning clinical skills and provide rich opportunities for interprofessional educational experiences. The simulation team provides expert consultation for Grand Valley State University faculty and community partners. Through the sharing of simulation resources and other initiatives, Grand Valley will continue to serve its communities and respond to emerging needs in local and expanded healthcare areas. |
