Printmaking Students Highlight People's History of Grand Rapids

In January 2016, Jeff Smith, co-founder of the Grand Rapids People’s History Project, visited the GVSU Art & Design Department to meet with Brett Colley’s Intro to Printmaking class. The result was a semester-long collaboration, wherein all 17 students produced a poster (utilizing traditional print techniques such as etching, monotype and relief) to celebrate a significant movement or figure from the radical, people’s history of West Michigan. These posters are now being archived to the GRPHP website. https://grpeopleshistory.org
