GVSU Fine Arts students join their peers in showcase of the future creative entrepreneurs

Grand Valley State University has three students represented in the Michigan Collegiate Art Exhibition at the Lansing Gallery in Lansing, MI. They are Betsy Vollmar (Ceramics), Gina Pisto (Ceramics) and Jillian Thompson (Print). 

The purpose of the show is to engage the next generation of creative entrepreneurs by encouraging artistic excellence, providing networking opportunities, and enhancing professional capacity. Universities and colleges represented in the 2017 Michigan Collegiate Art Exhibition include: Alma College, Albion College, Central Michigan University, College for Creative Studies, Grand Valley State University, Kendall College of Art and Design, Michigan State University, and Western Michigan University. 

This year's exhibition was juried by Bruce Mackh (Michigan State University), Leslie Bellavance (President of Kendall College of Art and Design of Ferris State University), and Tim Lane (Assistant Coordinator, East Lansing Art Festival). The trio selected 30 students for the exhibition.

The exhibition runs from March 1 to March 28 at the Lansing Gallery (. The venue's location is 900 Oakwood St, Ypsilanti, MI. Gallery hours are Tuesday through Friday from 11:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m., and Saturday from 11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Admission is free.
