The seven entries of wearable art by Jewelry/Metalsmithing students at Grand Valley State University represents diverse approaches to adornment, but all with a specific intent by the artist be it social, political, humor, transformation, etc. Each piece is accompanied by a photograph of the work on the body which becomes the gallery for work of this nature.
As makers, the students embrace the opportunity to engage in a public conversation about contemporary jewelry and its place in society. We hope the work opens new ways of thinking and unexpected pleasures.
The exhibition is open at the following times:
- Monday through Thursday, from 5:00–8:00pm;
- Friday and Saturday, from noon–8:00pm;
- Sunday, from noon–6:00pm;
