Military Recognition Cords for Commencement, April 2016

Are you a student veteran graduating this semester? As a student veteran, you are entitled to wear the GVSU Military Recognition Cord for your Commencement Ceremony.
As a courtesy provided by President Haas, every graduating student who has served, or currently serves, in any of the five branches of the US Armed Forces, is entitled to receive and wear a red, white, and blue Recognition Cord to his/her Commencement Ceremony.

If you have served in the US Armed Forces, will be earning your degree and attending Commencement at Van Andel Arena, Grand Rapids, MI, you are eligible to receive this Cord.

Again, the only requirements to receive your FREE Patriotic Recognition Cord are that you:

a) Will be participating in the University’s Commencement Ceremony on April 30, 2016

b) Personally served in the US Army, Marines, Navy, Air Force, or Coast Guard

c) Present a valid photo ID (non-military OK) to verify your identity 
Cords are available at the Dean of Students Office (202 STU - Allendale Campus) or from Steven Lipnicki (101B - DeVos Campus).

While we recognize the impact on immediate family members, this Recognition Cord is intended to honor those who have personally served.
