Exporter Roundtable to discuss European Union

Date: September 9, 2013

At the request of the US Trade Representative, the US International Trade Commission is conducting an investigation focusing on barriers faced by US small and medium companies exporting to the European Union. Information collected may be used by the US Trade Representative to address trade barriers that impact companies in the upcoming EU Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) negotiations.

The US International Trade Commission has asked the SBA and US Export Assistance Centers to assist in organizing a roundtable of small and medium sized Michigan companies to discuss export barriers in relation to the EU. They are especially interested in hearing from those companies with experience exporting to the EU that are in the Automotive Sector. Due to space limitations, we may not be able to accommodate all companies that respond; we will strive to select a cross section of companies experiencing various types of barriers.

The roundtable will take place at September 9, 2013 the Michigan First Credit Union, 27000 Evergreen Road, Lathrup Village, MI 48076.   If you are interested in participating, please reply via email to Catherine.gase@sba.gov with:

•  Your name, contact information, website, and number of employees
•  A description of your products and services & a summary of your exporting experience
•  What type of services you have received from the following organizations: MEDC, SBA, USEAC, US F&CS, SBTDC, EXIM Bank, etc.
•  A description of the trade barriers you have encountered exporting to the European Union

Please reply by as soon as possible. Companies will be selected on a rolling basis, so an early response is advised. We will reply to let you know if you’ve been selected for the roundtable.
