From NACUA/Federal Register: Increase in Civil Monetary Penalties
Final regulations increasing civil monetary penalties, including an increase in the maximum fine for violations of the Higher Education Act or its implementing regulations, from $27,500 to $35,000. Regulations are effective on October 2, 2012 and increases apply only to violations that occur after the effective date of the adjustments.
